The Wisconsin Puppy Mill Project

The Wisconsin Puppy Mill Project is a 501(c)3 registered non-profit organization . On December 1, 2009, our decade-long dream was realized when, with his signature, Governor Doyle turned AB-250, the Dog Breeders Licensure Bill, into the ground-breaking Commercial Dog Breeders Licensure Law! Amazing Eileen Ribbens is the Executive Director, Founder.

Our goal is to offer a valuable educational resouce for:

-those seeking to end the institutionalized form of animal cruelty known as "puppy mills"
-those looking for ways to fight abuse in their own neighborhoods
those wishing to add a healthy, loving, animal companion to their families

Members of our group started working to alleviate the suffering of mill dogs in 1999 and officially organized as the Wisconsin Puppy Mill Project, Inc., in 2004. Our mission is to educate the public about puppy mills, to prevent cruelty to animals, to foster understanding of responsible pet acquisition and ownership, and to promote adoption of homeless companion animals. Susie Bower, owner of End of the Leash, Mukwonago (and coming soon to the village of Pewaukee!) presents this seminar at HAWS on the beneficial effects of essential oils.  Cats, dogs, horses, birds and their humans all benefit from the amazing powers of therapeutic grade oils.

Oshkosh Area Humane Society
& Shelter from the Storm Spay Neuter

Oshkosh Humane Society
1925 Shelter Court
Oshkosh, WI 54901

The Oshkosh Area Humane Society is very excited about its partnership with Shelter from the Storm Animal Rescue, a Madison based non-profit offering low cost spay neuter surgeries. OAHS will be a drop-off location for people in the Oshkosh area utilizing the services of Shelter from the Storm.  Shelter from the Storm comes to OAHS to pick up pets scheduled in advance for surgery on a specific day, takes them back to the Madison clinic, performs surgeries the next day and then brings pets back to OAHS to be returned to their owners.

This program benefits people and their pets and OAHS. For the owners, they will have a pet that is easier to train, less likely to roam and get into fights with other animals. The animals themselves will be less likely to develop certain kinds of cancer and live happier and healthier lives. The payoff for OAHS is fewer unwanted births resulting in fewer unwanted animals coming into OAHS and other shelters.

Persons wishing to take advantage of the low cost spay/neuter and transport service need to call ahead to set up an appointment at 920-424-2128 or email spaymeoahs@hotmail.com

Note! Payment due by August 11th

Although these cats would not be suitable as indoor pets they deserve to live a long life.

We adopt our feral cats to owners who will provide food, water and shelter from inclement weather. In return, the cats will keep the rodent population under control by becoming 'mousers'.    http://www.daneferals.org/
